Health tips
As a busy mother of three children, we all know the importance of keeping our health in check especially when it comes to protecting us from harmful and unhealthy foods, physical exercise, and even mental fitness. This doesn't necessarily mean that you need a gym membership or run a lot. It does however mean that there are things that you can do to make sure you and your family stay healthy in summers or anytime. Here are a few tips to help keep yourself and your loved ones happy and healthy as well as happy healthy!
1. Be aware of what goes on in society
If you're like many people reading this then you probably don't think much about what you eat, drink, or do in any other way besides just how you're feeling. Being aware of and learning about what's happening around us is important for not only our physical well-being but also a person's emotional and mental health. For example, if you're thinking about eating something fatty, there are ways you can add extra virgin olive oil instead if it's been bothering you. If you've been struggling with weight loss then try adding an apple to your salad, drinking milk, or using honey with some yogurt. We like to have some fun stuff in the summer! So go ahead and be aware of what's best for you and your family no matter where you live.
2. Try eating less salt, sugar, excess fat, sugars then sugar instead of starch, fat than protein!
It seems silly to say but we all often forget to check how many times a day we eat those foods that give us such unpleasant tastes. There are more than enough resources available online to help you learn more about good and bad foods so stop worrying about your family as you should! Start eating whole foods, if possible, and try your hardest to avoid processed ones. Make every effort possible to be mindful of your eating habits and make a conscious effort to eat fresh and in small amounts. Do your best to avoid having too much of anything at once, maybe only one plate of ice cream to help you manage your lunchtime. Even if you like sweet or salty foods, do your best to have healthier options.
3. Eat frequently throughout the day to boost your energy and feel better after intense physical activity.
Your body needs carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, not carbs, and proteins all at once. Carbohydrates give you a quick burst of blood sugar and protein helps boost your muscles and keeps you going throughout the day, while fat helps with your immune system and gives you energy from the hard work you put in. Also try eating smaller portions throughout the day so that when you're home, you have a snack ready to take. One meal for dinner might be enough when you eat pasta with rice a little later, so it will really help to keep you going all afternoon long and feel energized as well! Try to remember to add small quantities of protein and carbohydrates each day.
4. Don’t skip breakfast.
You don't want to wake up and find you're starving and know that you'll be able to get through school without food in your stomach. The nutrients your body can gain from a proper well-balanced diet can help with some feelings of fatigue, lethargy, and light-headedness. Start by making a plate of oatmeal with berries and peanut butter and let you get started. You'll have a great start to your day. Once you've finished your oatie, make a big pot of coffee and enjoy that lovely cup of instant drinks in the morning so you can get going straight away. In addition, if you don't like your tea make a cold brew and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds so that it's warm, and drinks it down the front of your arm. That way, once you're out of the house, you can drink some of the hot mugs on sunny days or enjoy a nice glass of red wine. Have your toast and coffee first thing so that you don't miss breakfast the following morning!
5. Get plenty of sleep.
Sleep is essential for your overall health, mental clarity as well as being able to function properly at work and school. Studies show that getting between six hours and eight hours of sleep each night is very beneficial for mental abilities, memory, and concentration, along with preventing depression and anxiety. Aim to get adequate amounts of sleep each night, even if it's only 5 to 7 hours every night, and don't forget to have the most ideal amount. During these hours, your brain is rejuvenating itself and getting ready to operate at peak efficiency.
